v2rayN vs Hiddify: which proxy client should you choose?
v2rayN and Hiddify are free, open-source clients for connecting to proxy servers that use modern protocols such as VLESS, VMess, Trojan and Shadowsocks. Neither provides servers of its own: you need a server or subscription from a provider you trust. Please use these tools in line with the laws that apply to you.

Ease of use
Hiddify is built to be approachable. You paste a subscription link or scan a QR code, and the app can test the servers and pick a working one automatically. The interface is the same on phones and computers. v2rayN exposes far more: per-server settings, custom routing rules, DNS options and core selection. That makes it powerful, but new users can feel lost among the menus.
Platforms and protocols
If you need the same client on your phone and your laptop, Hiddify covers Android, iOS and all three desktop systems. v2rayN is desktop-only; on Android its sister project v2rayNG fills the gap. Both support the widely used protocols, and the exact list depends on the core version, so check each app page for current details.
Routing and system-wide use
Both clients can work as a local proxy that browsers and other apps use, and both offer a mode that captures traffic system-wide (often called TUN mode) so that apps without proxy settings are covered too. v2rayN lets you write detailed rules, for example sending only certain domains or IP ranges through the server and everything else directly. Hiddify provides ready-made routing options that cover common needs without editing rules.
Whichever you choose, download it from its official source, compare checksums where available and keep it updated, since protocol support and fixes arrive regularly.
Our verdict
Choose Hiddify for a quick, consistent experience across all your devices. Choose v2rayN on the desktop when you want precise control over routing and cores. Other clients, including FlClash, are listed in our proxy clients guide.
